and Answer Search. As CSD provides global mobile services such as V, and PHOLAR,
CSD engineers do their best in order to deliver the best product to the world.
CSD has tried to create new, innovative, mobile, and global services as always.

Role of PSD(1) Server Development
- -Develop PC/Mobile web pages and diverse APIs
- -Design, implement, and operate service systems
- -Manage and control network traffic to accommodate high user volume
- -Set up the foundation for smooth operation of services
- -Develop Android and iOS apps for NAVER, including NAVER Blog and NAVER Café
- -Focus is mainly on Android and iOS compatible apps
- -Detect latest trends and seek to constantly improve UI and UX
- -Develop interface mainly using JavaScript
- -Develop UI frameworks, plug-ins, libraries as well as UIs for services
- -Strive to build quality products that are compatible with various browsers to create satisfactory UI for users

SED researches and develops algorithms and related technologies applicable to NAVER’s Search Engine System.
(1) Search Platform Development
Research and develop a variety of platforms for real-time incremental computing engine,
distributed search engine, and machine learning.
(2) Large Data Processing
Be in charge of data engineering such as building large-scale clusters and processing high speed large data,
in order to process internal and external data required for users; eliminate duplicates and spam.
(3) Search System Development
Develop a system optimized for high speed and high performance, to process inflow from searches
(the unified search/NAVER Blog/NAVER Café/NAVER Shopping/NAVER Web documents/NAVER Image).
Also, self-build a system for solid service with higher security and for ease of operation.

PD develops various globally competitive platforms that are central to NAVER’s services.
Role of PDPD supports NAVER’s services and data management.
PD makes possible the storage of large data collected from NAVER’s services including NAVER Blog, NAVER Café and NDrive. The department develops distributed file systems, RDBMS and distributed cache, etc.
PD links user devices to NAVER’s servers, delivers messages to users globally, and develops API platforms.
PD creates platforms that speed up service development and operation.
PD also provides symmetric key management, authority management, performance/resource monitoring,
chat platforms, log collecting, and RPC Server.
PD actively uses open source projects, and

NAVER LABS researches and applies a state of the art deep learning techniques
competitive to other global companies. Deep learning has already been applied to NAVER's app voice
recognition, automatic image classification in Knowledge iN and NDrive, resulting to outstanding quality enhancement.
We plan to expand our landscape to advanced cognitive technology, which will enable machine translation
based on human language modeling, emotion analysis, document summary, word meaning comprehension, natural language process, and more.

We research top-notch voice recognition technology applying mobile optimized voice recognition and
reflecting real time search ranking/trends based on massive search data and deep learning.
Applications: NAVER app unified search, NAVER dictionary Japanese translator, global conversation
To achieve outstanding clarity and naturalness of complex sound,we use rhythm processing technology
based on statistics, pattern learning models, and voice synthesis technology
based on the linguistic/phonologic knowledge. This technology is applied to many of NAVER’s services.

We develop machine translation technology which is the base of the NAVER translator,
widely loved with its strong translation power on new terms and natural translation.
Applications: NAVER Mobile Korean-English web translator, NAVER dictionary translator, LINE translation bot
Based on NAVER's massive user data, we research image recognition technology
to mine meaningful information(human faces, commodity types) from images
and compute freely transformed objects. Our research outcomes are applied across NAVER's many services including unified search,
cafe/blog services, and LINE’s camera app.
Applications: NDrive Photo Album, LINE Camera app filter, NAVER app music and wine label recognition, LINE
video call, sound source license filtering, etc.
We make web browser engines and research the generic technology fundamental to them,
